THANK YOU!
We are over and out for the 2025 Australian National Band Championships—what many are now calling THE BEST NATIONALS EVER, and without doubt the most-watched band event in the world.
Congratulations to the Victorian Bands’ League and everyone involved in organising, coordinating, adjudicating, and running the event. Everything ran incredibly smoothly over the weekend—so much unpaid hard work behind the scenes deserves recognition and so much respect.
Congratulations to the winning bands, and well done to EVERY band that performed. You are all superstars and I love hearing you play.
It was incredible to see a literally sold out venue for the Premier Grade…the atmosphere was electric, and the performances were literally world class. (you might need to pre-puchase tickets for 2026 to make sure you get a seat in the hall!!)
Without the tireless volunteer state organising committees, leagues, and associations, events that celebrate and promote the banding movement at a national level would be far harder to stage. Australian banding and community music making are so much stronger for having a cohesive National event every year.
OUR movement is on the rise across the country, and it is wonderful to see and hear the music and musicians speak for themselves on stage. Don’t forget—the banding movement belongs to (and is the responsibility of) every musician, organiser, audience member, and Loyal Viewer. It is “our” movement and “our” Nationals.
I am so privileged to be part of it. It is an honour to listen to and broadcast these performances. I am proud to be part of the amazing banding scene in Australia. Next year’s Brisbane Nationals will be amazing.
It was sensational to see bands from EVERY single state taking the stage, alongside our New Zealand friends. Fingers crossed some Northern Territory bands can join us next year (in case you can’t tell, I’m already counting down to Easter 2026).
I thought the Parade of Bands had a very high standard of marching – and a great atmosphere around it. It’s great to see bands marching so well and promoting what we do to the general public. Good luck to everyone involved in ANZAC Day services and marches this Friday. Be amazing.
Thank you so much to every musician for your work. I genuinely enjoyed every performance I heard. The year-on-year improvement is amazing and exciting and I love to hear everyone getting better all the time. It was especially great to see more Junior bands performing and embracing the Nationals experience. Don’t stop!
Loyal Viewers, thank you for your donations and words of encouragement. Having you watching from home elevates the entire contest and bands absolutely appreciate the comments and at-home Loyal Viewer audiences.
That’s my ramble done. Thanks for the music, all the hard work, and your wonderful performances. It’s inspiring to hear bands improve each year.
Keep up the amazing music making, keep practising, and I can’t wait to hear you play again soon!!
Love from Tim
